At photreon, a KIT spin-off, we’re developing a solar panel that directly splits water into hydrogen and oxygen—without expensive infrastructure, without fossil fuels, using only sunlight and water. Our goal? To make Europe less dependent on fossil fuels and to make the energy transition economically and ecologically sustainable.
Your responsibilities:
🔹 Wet-chemical synthesis of semiconductor particles—you’ll mix, measure, and experiment in the lab.
🔹 Photochemical deposition of co-catalysts—you’ll bring light in and make catalysts more efficient.
🔹 Material characterization (PXRD, SEM, etc.) & performance measurement – You’ll analyze what your samples really are and what they’re capable of.
🔹 Data analysis in MATLAB – You’ll learn how to interpret experimental data and derive optimizations.
🔹 Interpretation of results and variation of synthesis protocols – You’ll learn to think and act like a researcher.
🔹 Literature review & patent studies – You’ll stay up to date on the latest research and contribute your knowledge to the team.
What we’re looking for:
✅ Students (Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering)
✅ Team players who are organized, proactive, and curious.
✅ Lab experience—if you’ve ever worked in a lab, that’s a plus!
✅ Eager to make an impact—you don’t just want to learn theory, but actually contribute to research.
📅 Flexible working hours (12–20 hours/week; choose your full-time workday flexibly)—perfect for your studies!
